Elundini meets the growing needs of mentally and physically challenged children between the ages of 1 and 18 in the Du Noon, Joe Slovo and Tableview areas. In addition, we provide an education based day-care facility for able-bodied children of nursery school age within this community.

We strive to offer a safe, loving, stimulating and caring environment to these children in the hope of securing them a promising future.

We provide educational support, recreational activities, access to relevant information in managing various disabilities, referral services, good nutrition and make available HIV and Aids counseling, psychological and social welfare support.

• Physiotherapy equipment, Medical cabinet, Cupboards and shelving, Photocopy machine, Data Projector, Musical cot mobiles, Educational toys, Children’s clothing

• Accessing donors on whom we can depend for ongoing support. After protracted negotiations, Elundini has finally been offered the opportunity to buy the land on which we are presently situated. An agreement of sale has been drawn up for a purchase price of R83 000, and we’re hoping to raise the required sum in the forthcoming months.

• Obtain sufficient funding to offer staff market related salaries. The need for donors for salaries is ongoing.

• Ultimately, our dream is to build suitable buildings on the property to permanently accommodate the growing needs of the children and staff in a professional environment.

• Access fully trained staff who can offer physiotherapy and occupational therapy, in the interest of providing appropriate/professional medical care on an ongoing basis.

• The only access we have to professional physiotherapy is at the Children’s Red Cross Hospital which is at least 40+km’s away from Elundini. It’s a very arduous journey for those with cerebral palsy to make in taxi’s. We need to purchase a second vehicle to safely transport the children to and from school, as well as The Red Cross Children’s Hospital.

• In providing the right kind of care, we hope to ultimately improve their quality of their lives.
